Steam Train Journey from Red Letter Days

A Cathedrals Express carriage pulled by an amazing steam locomotive is a treat very much like stepping back in time. A range of trips are available and run at least once or twice a year to cities such as Canterbury, Bath, Bristol, Salisbury, Cardiff, Cambridge, Ely, York, Chester, Carlisle, Ludlow, Shrewsbury, Weymouth, Worcester, Cheltenham, Stratford-upon-Avon, Swanage, Corfe, Exeter, Winchester, Gloucester, Minehead, or Lydney. On arrival, spend a few hours browsing, sightseeing or shopping. Later, head back to the train, re-board your carriage and let the steam engine lead you home on the return journey.

Availability: Each trip runs at least once or twice a year. Please book early to avoid disappointment; all booking is subject to limited running dates and availability.Weather: The weather should not affect your experience, however please note that the train runs on the public rail network and is subject to any imposed delays.Duration: Most trips average approximately ten to twelve hours (depending on your choice of destination). You'll receive your tickets and a full itinerary shortly before your departure date.Numbers On Day: There will be up to 64 passengers in your carriage. You will be seated on a table of four. All seating is allocated subject to availability on the day by the supplier and cannot be guaranteed.Spectators: Dress Code: Smart/casual wear.Guidelines: Refreshments are available on board for an extra charge. Every effort will be made to ensure that the proposed locomotive, route and times run as planned, but the operator reserves the right to amend or cancel any part of the trip at any time.Restrictions: Minimum age is 16.
