The ‘Cathedrals Express’ offers railway transport at its best, giving you the opportunity to revisit the golden age of travel and enjoy a nostalgic journey on a vintage steam locomotive in beautifully-restored historic green carriages.  The sights, sounds and smells of a steam train as it thunders across the country at speeds of up to 75 mph are guaranteed to transport you back to a bygone age! You can choose your destination from a selection of England’s most beautiful towns and cities, and, once you arrive and disembark from the train, you will enjoy several hours sightseeing or shopping at your chosen destination before returning to the steam train for your homeward journey.  Day trip by steam train to your chosen location, seated in either a compartment for six or in an open carriage at tables for four Complimentary glass of orange juice and champagne on boarding Waitress service with complimentary tea and coffee during both legs of your journey Delicious platter of cold meats and salads served on both your outward and return journeys Approx 3-6 hours for sightseeing and shopping at your chosen location Allow an entire day (approx 8-12 hours) for your experience Experience gift pack including smart wallet, personalised voucher and message card PA cover to a value of £50,000 plus cancellation indemnity On arrival you’ll be welcomed on board by the friendly and efficient staff.  You’ll be seated in either a compartment for six people or an open carriage at tables for four (please state when booking if you have a preference).  You’ll then be able to relax and enjoy the unique experience of travelling by steam train through England’s beautiful countryside.  When you arrive at your chosen location you’ll have around 3-6 hours to spend shopping and seeing the sights, but don’t be late returning to the train!  Once you’ve boarded for your return journey, allow yourself some hard-earned rest as the historic carriages, the sound of the engine’s whistle and the smoke drifting past the window transport you back to a bygone age. Minimum age: There is no minimum age for this experience. All departures are from London Please state on booking if you have any special dietary needs.  The operator reserves the right to vary the locomotives throughout the year, and for operational reasons it may be necessary to change locomotives at short notice. Please note that this experience does not include Special events, Christmas Shopping trips or Carol Specials. The dress code on the train is smart casual.  You will receive a delicious platter of cold meats and salads on your outward journey, and this will be replaced with another, varied selection on the homeward leg of the journey.
